He has the voice of Johnny Cash and the energy of a punk.
Jesse Pilgrim & The Bonfire are releasing their debut album, “Trial & Error,” this Saturday at SPACE Gallery, and the show will be one of the most unique events of the year. Pilgrim’s basis for performance and song has an old country feel, but his attitude and sound comes off a lot more spunky and hard-hitting. You can listen to the album now to hear for yourself—it’s definitely not the usual cream of the crop we get in Maine.
Pilgrim’s band, The Bonfire, is made up of Mica Jones, Andy Barbo, Derek Gierhan, and Zach Pilgrim, and it features a few guests from the local music scene, including Jakob Battick, Aly Spaltro (of Lady Lamb the Beekeeper), Dana Gross, Will Ethridge, Margaret Chapin, and Eric Bettencourt.
Pilgrim and his band will be joined by Parkside-obsessed hip-hop group Grant Street Orchestra, folk-punk band Butcher Boy, and music rebels Panda Bandits. The show starts at 8:30 P.M. and admission costs $8.
