The election is just around the corner. And no matter where your political allegiances lie, the best thing you can do to prepare for voting (aside from, you know, registering to vote) is to get informed. Watching the debates is an important step in that direction. Though if you’re anything like me you can’t watch at home because Netflix, you’re only source of television, doesn’t stream the Presidential debates live. Thank heavens Empire Dine and Dance has your back. Tonight’s debate focuses on domestic policy and if you’re in Portland you can watch it for free upstairs on Empire’s big screen, play some bingo, and register to vote. Why would Empire do such a thing? Because there’s nothing more rock and roll than being armed with information. Maybe that hot chick at work is super into politics and this will provide the perfect opportunity to chat her up at the water cooler tomorrow. She probably still has a boyfriend, but I mean, take a chance dude.

So if you don’t have a TV at home, or even if you do, you ought to check things out over at Empire. Doors at 8:30pm, debate starts at 9pm. Mingling does the body good. And who doesn’t like bingo? After the debate, things get a little 90s pop princess on you as the venue kicks off the brand new season of Clash of the Titans. This week’s clash: Christina Aguilera vs. Britney Spears. We know. It’s too good to be true.

If for some reason you can’t make it out tonight, the other debates will be screened at Empire, as well. Check out the schedule here.

Also, here’s a bunch of good looking famous people telling you why it’s important to vote. I second Joseph Gordon-Levitt: let’s vote to end dubstep.

Drop some knowledge.
