Let me introduce you to Two Lights, a dark curly haired, sexy indie rock band. I know what you’re thinking. God, another? But this one is actually talented AND from Maine! Formed by Cape Elizabeth natives (brothers Abner and Harper Willis and friend Ryan Gross), Two Lights relocated to NYC, added drummer Benny Brown, and just released their debut EP entitled “Years Get Gone.”

I have to admit, I am a little biased since these are my high school buddies, but I wouldn’t bother with a mention if they weren’t extremely talented. Their tracks seamlessly fuse blissed-out, nostalgic pop melodies with rock and roll grit. Their influences are insanely diverse, and include the likes of Ryan Adams, early Kings of Leon, Tom Petty, and even Noel Gallagher on a mellow day. And I’m not the only one who thinks Two Lights are worth a listen. “Years Get Gone” has been creating some buzz locally and nationally; iTunes listed the EP among their “new and noteworthy” releases. Popular music blog Consequence of Sound says that Two Lights has “catchy songs and impressive guitar work…the kind of sound that any music fan would enjoy” and the Deli Magazine in NYC praises their “catchy pop songs…[that] have the magical power to obliterate wintry thoughts…bittersweet, sugary indie pop…” Just in time for winter!
