In my everlasting pursuit of rock and roll salvation, I haven’t really found the time to sleep, eat, or simply function like a normal human being these past couple of weeks. By my last estimate, I attended roughly six concerts in 14 days, including an eight hour drive to Philadelphia to see the greatest rock and roll band of the modern era (as confirmed by White House press secretary Jay Carney), Guided By Voices. Factoring in the amount of PBR I consumed in that entire period, it’s a wonder I’m even typing this today. Luckily, I brought along my trusted camera to document the melting of my face in real time, and have compiled some of my favorite shots from my travels below. From Jacob Augustine performing a stunning rendition of ‘Marathon Caribou’ at One Longfellow Square, to an impromptu dance session with Post Provost at the Big Easy and the sheer majesty of witnessing Guided By Voices play ‘The Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory’ live, the memories were plentiful, and I hope you enjoy these photographs even a fraction as much as I am losing my shit, so to speak, in this clip here at 1:18. Enjoy.
