As reported by the style spotters at Cool Hunting (and then again by Laura Serino at Fore Front Fashion), Sea Bags has teamed up with rugged retailer Woolrich for a line of durable plaid bags. Aesthetically, it’s a bit of a departure for Sea Bags, a Portland-based company that creates utilitarian, nautical-themed tote bags out of recycled sails. The new line is fairly masculine in comparison with their usual wares, but I think it’s a great look—one that will likely appeal to many a plaid-clad hipster. I could even see some rugged dude’s carrying these bags, though they’ll more likely end up on the arms of us boyish girls. With rope handles and plaid accents, they’re the perfect accessory for a modern tomboy.
If you can’t commit to a whole large tote, you can still get a sampling of the oceanic style. The collaboration collection features iPad cases and travel kits alongside their signature hemp-handled bags. And diehard prepsters can purchase all three items in either color (forest, a dark green plaid, or harvest, a cheerful red-and-orange mix) for $295.
