If you like your indie rock a little dirty, then you should dig into Metal Feathers’ new album, oddly titled “Contrast Eats The Slimey Green.”

Not only is it free, but it’s actually quite amazing. Combining fuzzy guitar, bass and synthesizer hooks with anthemic choruses and the occasional harmonies, Metal Feathers evokes the best of early 90’s indie rock while bringing something new to the table.

You can listen to “Slimey Green” in the embedded player below or download it from their Bandcamp page. Too bad there’s no donation option.

Dispatch picks: “NLTL,” “City Hall,” and “Caravan.”

And if you dig the tunes, you can see them play Port City Music Hall with Spouse on Feb. 15 for $2.

Drop some knowledge.
