We are slowly but surely heading into the most awkward part of the calendar when it comes to activities in Maine. It is too cold out for most of the regular outdoorsy stuff that we love to do. Yet, it’s still not cold enough for actual winter stuff. So what is a bored adventurous person such as yourself supposed to about this? Lucky for you there are few indoor activities that can get your sweat glands working and your heart rate soaring. Not that, but I like where your head is at. No, I’m talking about indoor rock climbing at the Maine Rock Gym.
The Maine Rock Gym is whatever you make it to be. Make your own way up the top of the wall or try some of the different routes that have already been planned for you. With more than 5,000 square feet of rock like textured climbing surfaces you can spend an entire week in here and never do the same path twice. One of the best parts is that you and your friends can get certified so you can belay each other around the gym instead of waiting for someone who knows what they are doing to help you up the wall. Lets go get a great workout at a fake mountain while we wait for the real mountains to open up for the season.
