Kingfield POPS Festival of the Arts
There are two main components to the Kingfield POPS: one is the concert and the other is the Festival of the Arts. This year, there is also a POPS Friday Art Walk on June 29, 5 to 8 p.m. Featuring art at a dozen venues, live music at three: Ellie and Andy Buckland at the Stadler Gallery, Mali and Tom Obamsawin at the Cottage Gallery at Mountain Village Inn, and The Gawler Family at the Schoolhouse Gallery. All free. The Kingfield POPS is an outdoor concert and an arts festival featured in a stunning mountain venue. At the Festival of the Arts (10 to 4), fine artists and artisans sell and display their work. Live local music all day. For the POPS 10th year anniversary – Bangor Symphony Orchestra conducted by Grammy winner Lucas Richman and International folk legend Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary will perform. Maine’s bluegrass stars Erica Brown and the Bluegrass Connection; acoustic soul and blues originals from Nadia and Jocko; the amazing youth ensemble the Maranacook String Band; and steel drum music from the Western Mountain Trash Can Band. As always, the show will wrap up with a grand fireworks finale.
