At the time of this writing, 30 local musicians have been awake for approximately 40 hours in the midst of forming six new bands in Portland. In this time, they have been relentlessly writing and rehearsing songs in new collaborations that have never been done before.
Tonight is the third annual 48 Hour Music Festival, and if you attend, you will be the first people to hear these new bands.
The supergroups have been formed by members of the following bands: Huak, the Rattlesnakes, Covered in Bees, Planets Around the Sun, Falls of Rauros, The Travelling Trees, Antiseptic, Conifer, Sunset Hearts, Marie Stella, I Barbarian, Space vs. Speed, Corpse Pose, Shabti, Baltic Sea, The Mallett Brothers Band, Computer At Sea, and more.
The show starts at 9 P.M. at SPACE Gallery with doors opening 30 minutes prior. SPACE Gallery Events Programmer and festival participator, Ian Paige, said that the show is expected to sell out, so make sure to buy tickets ahead of time. Tickets cost $10.
