You may have heard that the lovely Portland songstress Anna Lombard (of anna & the diggs) has been collaborating with Maine-natives Adam Agati and Nick Falk in New York City with plans to release her highly-anticipated solo record, Head Full of Bells. Very exciting. Except it’s not coming out until Spring 2013. Bummer, right? False. This is a good thing. Lombard and co-songwriter Agati pushed back to the album in order to make it a nine song release instead of the originally intentioned Kickstarter EP. Good things come to those who wait, and so on.

However, for all you guys with a hankering for a taste of the album, yesterday Anna released the beautiful  “Confessions of a Werewolf” online. The song’s music was recorded at Hussey Sound in Brooklyn, while the vocals were recorded right here in Maine with Jim Begley at The Studio in Portland. Though you could chock it up to me just being overly emotional (I cried when I saw Sleepwalk With Me alone in the theater the other week), I am going to go ahead and say it’s the soulful vocals and heartfelt lyrics that got me teary eyed while listening.

I suggest you listen with a box of tissues. With lyrics like “baby loving you’s breaking my bones,” you’re probaly going to need them.

Drop some knowledge.
