Anchors Away! A Nautical Fashion Roundup

We coastal dwellers live in a seaside culture. From the quaint shops of Downtown Portland to our state’s notorious supply of lobster, we’re nautical through and through. We eat, sleep, and breathe the sound of waves, the smell of brine, and the taste of sea salt. In such an atmosphere, it is only fitting that us locals show our pride by rocking some anchors. Once considered the sole property of seamen, anchors are now popping up everywhere. In no particular order, here are some of my favorite anchor accessories, from the delicate to the weathered. And as an added bonus, all of them are from Etsy!

1. Create a nautical atmosphere in your home-sweet-home by hanging this clever masthead-inspired Mermaid and Anchor print. (Your guests will be impressed by your artistic taste).

2. In our tech-happy society, it’s extra thoughtful to send a message on a good old-fashioned handwritten note. Send it with pride on this Anchor Stationary.

3. This Anchor T-shirt is a fresh take on the comfy cotton gray T. can be dressed up with a long necklace and a blazer, or dressed down with your favorite pair of skinny jeans.

4. This simple, leather-corded Anchor Bracelet is cleverly designed so that its antique-finished charm doubles as a clasp.

5. And finally for those who are truly dedicated to the sea, an Anchor Tattoo is the accessory that will be as permanently a part of you as your  nautical roots.

Drop some knowledge.
