Were Irish eyes smiling yesterday or are you never drinking a drop of green beer ever again?  If you’re not a hurting unit today, there are some fun, low-key adventures you can check out this Sunday Fun Day.

Time to get your brunch on this morning and what better way to do it with some great food paired with some live, local music?  Get yourself over to Local Sprouts on Congress Street this morning and check out Sean Mencher and Bob Hamilton as they play a set of tunes cover-free this morning beginning at 11am.  Every Sunday the dup will be playing everything from swing to jazz to rockabilly, country and blues.  There’s always a couple of surprise guests, so check it it out if you’re up and moving this morning.

Two Portland bands prepare for the zombie apocalypse up in the mountains today.  Beginning at noon you can check out sets from the surf, psychobilly acts Zombie Beach and Thee Icepicks who will be rocking Blizzards Pub up at Shawnee Peak until about 4 o’clock this afternoon.

Local musician Brian Patricks will be playing a set over at Andy’s Old Port Pub in Portland this evening.  Beginning at 6:30 you can hear Brian perform a handful of original tunes alongside classics that everyone knows and loves.

If you’ve got it in you and are looking to shake it all the way into Monday, then I head down to Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland for another installment of their Sunday Fun Day event.  Every first and third Sunday of the month you can check out dance music from different artists from all over the place.  Brought to you by DJs Aphilly8 and Psydways, Sunday Fun Day features 80-minue sets that are sure to get you moving.  Tonight they welcome special guest 32french who will be kicking up the jams all evening long.  The fun gets started right around 9 o’clock tonight.

And I’m pretty certain by now that you all know that Sundays equal another edition of The Couch with host John Nels over at Empire Dine and Dance in Portland.  The Couch is one of the most assorted open mic nights around town that also hosts an artist or act each Sunday in conjunction to the open mic portion of the evening.  Tonight The Couch welcomes local folk musician Jesse Pilgrim to the stage downstairs for a full set of tunes starting up at 10pm; The Couch itself beings at 9 o’clock this Sunday evening.

Drop some knowledge.
